Jennie Lou Leeder knows Texas and Texas values. Leeder’s ties to the TX21 community run deep. Leeder’s paternal grandfather purchased the family farm in Kerr County in 1882. Now classified as a Century Family Farm in the Texas Family Land Heritage program, the land is still owned and farmed by Leeder’s family. Today, Leeder lives on the Sunset Valley property in South Austin that her grandparents purchased in 1950.

Leeder was raised in Llano, TX, where she graduated from Llano High School before completing a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Education with a minor in Physical Education at Southwest Texas State University. Leeder subsequently completed her Masters in Athletic Administration at Ohio University.

Leeder has served as the Llano County Democratic Chair since 2007. She is also a member of the Texas County Chairs Association and has served on the Executive Board. In 2014 she was elected Senate District 24 Committeewoman where she served one term. She has also sat on the Rural Subcommittee, Urban County Subcommittee, and Legislative Committees. In 2008 and 2016, she was a national delegate to the Democratic National Convention.
